The Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce (GYCC) was supported by YEP to increase capacity of the its management in adequately responding to needs and aspirations of youth entrepreneurs and its membership in particular.

By the end of the training, a step down training for the Board and management of GYCC will be conducted with a support from YEP project; It is expected to increase membership revenue and expands its wings to the regions by December 2017

Why the workshop?

The difficulty in attracting new members and the lack of engagement of existing members are chronic problems faced by many membership-based trade and investment support institutions (TISIs) like sector associations and chambers of commerce. To tackle these issues institutions need to have the capacity to put together an optimal range of services, and to package these in the best combination possible for their members. This is key to demonstrating value to current and potential clients of any association. The objective of this workshop, jointly organised with the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), was to support the participating membership-based TISIs in demonstrating value to their members, running better services and remaining profitable with a sustainable value proposition.
