SheTrades in The Gambia CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – COHORT II The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE) are inviting women-owned businesses in the fashion & textile and horticulture and related sectors to apply to be part of the second cohort to be selected in 2019 to benefit from support packages throughout the year 2020. SUPPORT PROGRAMME The support programme will include: Tailored business coaching and training programmes on product development, quality, business operations and processes, packaging, accessing investment and other forms of business financing, export requirements and trends, as well as other business topics depending on company needs; Business linkages to domestic buyers and exporters, as well as tailored coaching through buyer-mentor groups; Participation in study tours and national and regional trade fairs, including tailored support in the preparation; Access to dedicated funding mechanisms for SheTrades in The Gambia entrepreneurs; TARGET GROUP To be eligible to participate in the programme, businesses must be: At least 30% women-owned, managed and controlled; Majority Gambian owned; Registered as a businesses in The Gambia; Active in priority value chains (horticulture or fashion & textiles); Employing at least 2 employees; To benefit fully from the support package, entrepreneurs are expected to commit at least 2 days per month from January 2020 to December 2020 to attending trainings, hosting company visits, or attending trade fairs, plus additional time to implement learnings and make changes in their businesses.
