Project Background

The Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) aims to support the economic development of The Gambia and improve the livelihoods of its people. Specifically, the YEP will enhance the employability and self-employment opportunities for youth, with a focus on vocational training and the creation of micro and small-sized enterprises and creating and improving employment opportunities in selected sectors through value addition and internationalization.

The project is implemented by International Trade Centre (ITC) as the lead implementing agency and under the leadership of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration & Employment (MOTIE) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The project is funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for stability and addressing root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa.

Background on the activity.

The Information Technology Association of The Gambia is the Voice of ICT in The Gambia. As the chair of the ICT Core Team and the lead in ICT Affairs, ITAG works closely with the different sectors in enhancing their business potential and their growth and therefore engaged to support Freelancers in the Tourism Industry.

The Tourism Industry is at the heart of the Gambian economy. Gambian hotels and tour operators have little presence online which all come from third party providers like TripAdvisor and Booking.com. The overall purpose of this exercise is to ensure that Tour Operators and hotels develop the necessary digital skills to not only be able to market their services and portfolios, but to also manage their visibility online, better manage their client operations and also for monitoring and evaluation of their products and services.

Objectives of this assignment 

 

The objective is to support freelancers to work with selected hotels and tour operators with pictures and videos of their products; services and facilities that will enhance their marketing efforts and promote their business.

 

Scope of Services

The service provide(s) will work freelancer and focal person for a total number of 14 institutions (hotel/tour operator). He/she will deliver the following;

  • 25 to 30 photos – 1200 by 628 pixels (photo size) per institution
  • Up to 5 videos – 40 to 50 seconds long (maximum) per institution
  • Aerial photos
  • Panoramic photos

Duration 

The duration of the overall engagement will be 3 months from the agreed start date and deliverables will be flexible within the time agreed timeline between the freelancer, service provider and institution.

 

Terms and Conditions of payment 

 

  • The service provider to send a technical and financial  proposal that include cost for all the services mentioned
  • Service provider must be a registered business
  • Service will be paid upon completion of each of the assignment and approval from ITC
