In 2025, International Trade Centre in The Gambia supported youth, women and small businesses by working closely with government, UN agencies and private partners. The EU–YEP Tourism and Creative Industries project helped improve the competitiveness and sustainability of tourism and creative industries. Over 250 youth received vocational and hospitality training, while 101 youth and women were helped to sell their products and reach new customers. Key tourism sites, including Tendaba Camp, were solarised and five new tourism products were developed. Nine heritage sites were planned for upgrades. Cultural groups and artists gained performance experience and income, while local festivals and trade fairs boosted tourism and business. These efforts helped people gain skills, improve livelihoods and grow businesses. In 2026, ITC will continue supporting tourism upgrades, training youth and women and helping small businesses.
